Simply reply with opt out if not interested to hear from us.

That last line is something to warn you about as well. DON’T reply to any spam! That only lets them know it is a good address to send spam to, they won’t remove you, but add you instead and probably add you to the list they sell.

Like the last post about these scams, always do some research. Chances you are reading this because you searched for this company and hopefully you will find your answers before you lose money.

Like most of you we also receive the spam from companies trying to promote their services scams. Here is an example of one such email we have been seeing lately:

I can put your site at the top of a search engines listings. This is no joke and I can show proven results from all our past clients. If this is something you might be interested in, send me a reply with the web addresses you want to promote and the best way to contact you with some options.

Thanks in advance,

As expected the company doesn’t seem to exist at all and the location pulled up nothing related. My bet is that they sucker a payment from the unsuspecting website owner and that is the last they here. So, be careful. Rule of thumb, if you get an email from someone you don’t know (spam) treat it that way. Dump it in the trash.

Not only can you get ripped off from sites who spam by email, there are also companies who spam by phone. Sure, they might actually do something, but usually you will find their services lacking in this area. Even larger companies like YP.com who will say they are partners with Google will not follow through and leave your wallet empty.

Best to always research whoever you are talking to. Never let them sell you on the first call, especially if they say that you have to take their special offer now or it will be their normally outrageous price if you don’t commit with their sales person at that time. This sales practice seems to be top priority with those who don’t have something to back up what they say.

Write back with your personal experiences.
